There's hope another zero road toll can be achieved this holiday weekend.
AA spokesman Dylan Thomsen says the first zero road toll for a holiday weekend was Easter weekend this year, and he's sure it can be done again.
"Easter showed that we can achieve this, it's definitely possible, it was a fantastic achievement. Last Queens Birthday we had one death on the roads, so it's definitely achievable."
Mr Thomsen says around a quarter of the 285 people killed on the roads in the past year weren't wearing a seatbelt.
"If they were wearing a seatbelt it doesn't necessarily guarantee that they would have survived, but without a doubt, some of those people would be alive today just from taking that extra second to click in that safety belt before they start driving."
