Pukaha Mt Bruce is among a series of Nature Connections partners taking part in a summer campaign to get families back to nature.
Participants are encouraged to look for "Wild Things" hidden at mystery locations across the Wellington region, within the partner sites Pukaha, Wellington Zoo, Zealandia (Wellington), Nga Manu Nature Reserve (Kapiti), Staglands Wildlife Reserve (Upper Hutt), Battle Hill Farm Forest Park (Porirua), Kaitoke Regional Park (Upper Hutt), Otari-Wiltons Bush (Wellington), Matiu/Somes Island (Wellington) and Wellington Botanic Garden.
Families have to 'collect' their Wild Things by taking a picture of it and posting their best 'wild face' to #wellingtonwildthings.
Amy Hughes, General Manager Community Engagement at Wellington Zoo, said, "We are excited to be a part of the Wellington Wild Things campaigns with so many great places. We all want to encourage our locals to get out and about and enjoy the amazing nature attractions we're lucky enough to have on our doorstep. Having families enjoy the outdoors together is a great way to encourage less screen time and more natural play. Nothing beats the experience of nature to get your Wild Things out, let them burn some energy, and have fun."
