A problem with Honda's seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission (DCT) has resulted in the Japanese manufacturer to recall over 80,000 units of new Jazz Hybrid hatch and all-new Vezel compact crossover.
According to Honda, there is a risk the software program controlling seven speed DCT designed to improve fuel efficiency could delay the gear selection process or even fail. The problem affects 81,353 Jazz and Vezel Hybrid models produced in Japan between July 2013 and February 2014.
Honda say the latest recall is the third time the company has experienced issues with the seven speed DCT automatic transmission, with the two previous precautionary recalls in October and December 2013.
Delivery of the of the Jazz Hybrid and Vezel has been halted at the company's Saitama and Suzuka factories, while work is carried out to remedy the problem.
