Honda New Zealand is recalling more than 100 cars because of brake fluid leaks that could lead to weaker braking power.
The recall affected the Legend sedan models sold in New Zealand between 2006 and 2007, and involved 114 cars, general manager Murray Selby told NZPA.
Mr Selby said there was a potential problem in which a rubber seal in the brake cylinder might move if fluid not approved by Honda was used.
"What they will feel is a different feel in the pedals, and possible reduced braking performance, but they will not lose their brakes."
Mr Selby said Honda would be checking for any imported models that might be affected, but said he believed there were less than 10 in the country.
