Homophobia is being partly blamed for a World AIDS Day fundraising event being cancelled in Hamilton.
The organisers of Frankton Markets have told a group of drag queens their show could not go ahead today, due to opposition from stall keepers and shop owners.
Hamilton based entertainer Dennis Ralph says rival factions are trying to gain control of the markets.
He says some don't like the idea of the drag queens.
Mr Ralph says it is a public street, and the council needs to step in and say it is not right. He says it is unfair, because every other minority group has been allowed to take part in the markets.
