A homicide investigation is underway after a man's body was discovered in a parked car in South Auckland tonight.
Police are speaking to the man's partner who they say "may have witnessed events leading up to his death".
The man's body was discovered in his car on Norman Spencer Drive in Papatoetoe and emergency services were called to the scene about 7.45pm.
"Due to the nature of his injuries, police have commenced a homicide investigation which will be known as Operation Bastille," Detective Inspector Dave Lynch said.
