KEY POINTS:
Police have launched a homicide inquiry after a 22-year-old woman was found dead in her Dunedin home this afternoon.
Detective Senior Sergeant Kallum Croudis said a 32-year-old man had been charged with assault.
"The investigation is very much in its infancy," Mr Croudis said.
He said police would not be commenting further today but would issue a statement tomorrow.
