Homeowner fights burglar

A man was injured early yesterday in a struggle with a burglar in his Queenstown home. The occupants were woken by a man removing electrical goods, entertainment items and alcohol from various parts of the house.

Police said one man confronted the intruder and a scuffle ensued during which the occupant received moderate injuries to his shoulder. The intruder then fled.

The injured man was treated at Lakes District Hospital.
