The 59-year-old victim was kicked and beaten about the head and body with a piece of wood. He was then urinated on, and his driver's licence, Eftpos card and gas stove were stolen.
The man required stitches to his face and suffered significant bruising.
Police said a 49-year-old man had been charged with aggravated robbery and committing an indecent act with intent to offend.
The man's 13-year-old son was allegedly also involved in the attack and has been referred to Youth Aid.
