James Bond drove one, and yesterday a lucky bidder got a year-old Aston Martin for $140,000 less than the original price.

The 2009 Aston Martin V8 Vantage convertible went under the hammer at Turners Auctions in Auckland.

It sold for $160,000 in front of about 1500 people and one year after being bought for $300,000 during a prestige auction featuring 29 cars worth more than $2.5 million.
