A man jailed for breaking into the home of an elderly woman, tying up her and her daughter, has had his minimum non-parole period reduced.
Rangi Pauu pleaded guilty to the aggravated robbery of a rural property in Miranda, 40km east of Pukekohe, in March last year.
During the home invasion Pauu and accomplices Lokenitama Filipo and Cody Pomare attacked the two victims before fleeing with property worth at least $23,000.
All were sentenced to seven and a half years in prison with a minimum non-parole period of five years.
Earlier this year Pomare had his minimum non-parole period reduced to three years and nine months with the Court of Appeal ruling the judge had failed to adequately take in to account an early guilty plea, remorse and the need for offenders to be reintegrated and rehabilitated back into society.
The Court of Appeal has now ruled there was nothing to separate Pauu's appeal from Pomare's and also reduced his non-parole period reduced to three years and nine months.
A copy of the decision was sent to Filipo.
