A Lake Hawea woman convicted of embezzling more than $130,000 from her employers has been sentenced to 10 months' home detention and 200 hours' community service.
Amanda Margaret Knight, 44, previously admitted four representative charges of using Back Country Helicopters Ltd cheques between November 2004 and February 2008; four representative charges of directly accessing Back Country Helicopters Ltd's computer system and obtaining a pecuniary advantage between April 2008 and April 2011; and one representative charge of stealing cash totalling $2400 from Back Country Helicopters Ltd on or about September 15, 2008, all at Wanaka.
Knight was sentenced to 10 months' home detention and 200 hours' community service on the lead 2008 charge of accessing the computer system, six months' home detention for the other pecuniary advantage charges, six months' home detention for using Back Country Helicopters Ltd cheques and four months' home detention for theft of cash, all to be served concurrently.
