Meg Hunter is finding making periscopes inspirational.
The 8-year-old Carterton girl joined 13 other children at the Aratoi Museum of Art and History school holiday programme this week, inspired by artist Bill Hammond's works in the museum to make periscopes.
Meg said it was a lot of fun as she put together her second colourful periscope, which she planned to give to her parents.
"It's so cool. There is always new fun stuff to do here. You learn a lot. I like making things."
Douglas Park School student Caleb Everitt, 8, also said the programme was a heap of fun as he dripped paint down his cut-out periscope before putting it together. He too was into making his second one, which he planned to give to his older brother, Aiden, 12.
