GM Holden Australia has announced a new managing director, Mark Bernhard, who will return to the company just as it begins to cease production.
Bernhard began his career in the automotive industry at Holden in 1986 in senior finance roles and is now CFO of Shanghai GM.
He will take up his new role in the third quarter this year, succeeding GM Holden interim managing director and CFO Jeff Rolfs.
The company also announced a major new vehicle launch programme, delivering 24 new vehicles and 36 new powertrain combinations over the next five years.
It will launch the Cascada convertible, Astra hatch and Insignia sedan this year with these Opel-brand vehicles being tuned and tested for Australasian conditions at the Lang Lang Proving Ground in Victoria.
