KEY POINTS:
Holcim New Zealand is facing two charges relating to the death of a contractor's employee.
Raymond David Finn, 44, of Nelson, was crushed to death at Holcim's Cape Foulwind quarry, near Westport, on July 13 last year. He was an employee of Brightwater Engineering.
Holcim has been charged with failing to take all practical steps to ensure Mr Finn's safety while he was maintaining the return conveyor of a crusher plant.
The company is also charged with not ensuring the safety of another employee Blair Ashley Luff, who was allegedly exposed to the same hazard.
The case is due to come before Westport District Court on March 6.
