Hodgson to step down

Former Cabinet Minister Pete Hodgson will step down from politics at the next election.

The Labour MP held a wide variety of portfolios from 1990 to 1999, including health, transport and commerce.

Mr Hodgson told the Otago Daily Times; "I love my job but it is important to me to leave politics on my own terms."
