Wairarapa are in line to make the quarter-finals at the Collier Trophy national primary schoolgirls hockey tournament in Dunedin.
They suffered their first loss in pool play when they went down 1-0 to the highly-regarded North Harbour side yesterday but bounced back with a 2-0 victory over Mid-Canterbury later in the day, Morgan Percy being responsible for both goals.
Wairarapa were to play Thames Valley in the last of the pool matches today and a win there would secure them a quarter-final berth.
There were mixed fortunes for Wairarapa at the Hatch Cup national primary schoolboys at Tauranga yesterday.
They scored a resounding 6-0 win over Southland in their first game but were then on the end of a 4-0 beating by Taranaki in their second.
