Wairarapa have continued their giant killing ways at the national under-18 girls hockey tournament in Wellington.
They have now registered wins over two teams rated serious contenders for overall honours, beating Canterbury 2-1 on opening day and following that up with a 5-2 victory over Wellington
While Wairarapa had beaten Wellington in a pre-tournament game the latter had been depleted on that occasion and a much stiffer assignment was expected this time round.
But with national age group rep Elizabeth Perry leading the way Wairarapa called the tune from practically start to finish, leading 3-1 at halftime and scoring two goals to Wellington's one in the second spell.
Perry and Kate Jackson both scored two goals for Wairarapa with the other going to Kylie Henderson.
