Hundreds of people were evacuated from buildings in central Hamilton this morning after a false bomb threat was made in a phonecall.
Police cordoned off Harwood, London, Anglesea and Victoria streets at around 9am causing major traffic congestion.
A phonecall was made to Dallas Motors in Victoria Street prompting the scare.
Senior Sergeant Steve Hayman said a phonecall had been made but no device was discovered. The bomb disposal squad was not called in.
The road blocks were lifted at around 10.15am.
