Otaki police are appealing for witnesses to a hit and run incident.
A white four-wheel-drive slid out of control on State Highway One, about one-kilometre north of Otaki, sideswiping an oncoming car at about 5.30 last night.
The four-wheel drive then hit a fence before driving away heading south.
