A man has turned himself in to police as the driver who struck and killed a cyclist on the outskirts of Christchurch on Wednesday morning.
The driver left the scene after colliding with the 42-year-old mother of two at the intersection of Marshes and Springs Road, between 7am and 7.15am, police said.
"A motor vehicle has been seized and will undergo forensic examination next week," Christchurch police said tonight.
They are still investigating the incident and are calling for any witnesses who saw a blue Mazda Titian flat deck truck near Marshes and Springs Road on Wednesday between 7-7.15 am to come forward.
