The south-bound lane on the Rimutaka Hill was closed for about an hour following a two-car crash yesterday morning.
A four-wheel drive and a sedan collided just south of the summit, near Muldoon's Corner, about 6.30am. No-one was injured.
Diversions were in place for about an hour while emergency services waited for a tow truck to arrive.
