A major highway north of Auckland has reopened after a serious crash yesterday.
State Highway 1 between Silverdale and Warkworth was opened after 11pm, 12 hours after a crash a ute and a truck collided on Schedewys Hill, north of Mahurangi West.
One person was seriously injured in the crash
and the other has minor injuries.
Motorists faced long delays as authorities worked to remove the vehicles.
The NZ Transport Agency said at 9pm they hoped to get at least one lane opened by 10pm, before the highway was reopened completely after 11pm.
