Highway 29 closed due to slip

A landslip has closed State Highway 29 between the Waikato and Tauranga.

The slip was about 3 kilometres past Old Kaimai Road towards Tauranga, police said.

Diversions were in place, but motorists were advised to stay away from the area.

It was expected the southbound lane would be cleared very soon.
