Technology worth $6000 has been donated to assist an army of more than 1500 Canterbury student volunteers helping with the earthquake clean-up, thanks to Apple, Vodafone and SaaSilia.
The team, which has been cleaning up silt pushed up out of the ground after the quake, has been given three iPhone 4s, two internet sticks, mobile phone credit and GeoOP - a dispatch and mobile workforce management system, says student organiser Sam Johnson.
A Facebook event page he created to gather support has 3693 members.
