Local Government Minister Rodney Hide denies he's "softened his stance" on any aspect of the Government's controversial Auckland super-city proposal, including Maori seats.
He insists Aucklanders will get the chance to have their say on the plan at select committee hearings in the city later this year.
Mr Hide met The Aucklander in Auckland today. The interview is reported on www.theaucklander.co.nz this afternoon.
In the interview Mr Hide also outlines the three Bills that will make up Government's legislative programme; the tight timeline for public submissions, denies he's thrown out the Royal Commission report, and claims all the city's mayors support the new structure.
