The Herald on Sunday has maintained a massive readership lead over its rivals in Auckland and in the top half of the North Island in latest statistics released this week.
Year on year, the Herald on Sunday's Auckland readership lifted 5000 (2.2 per cent) to 233,000 readers - stretching its lead over the Sunday Star-Times to 41,000 readers. The paper has 113,000 more readers than the Sunday News in Auckland.
In the newspaper's key distribution area (Taupo and north), the Herald on Sunday has 341,000 readers - 43,000 more than the Sunday Star-Times and 141,000 more than the Sunday News.
The Herald on Sunday's overall readership remained at the record 371,000 for 12 months to March 31, set in 2007-2008. Our sister paper, the Weekend Herald, easily remains New Zealand's biggest newspaper.
