KEY POINTS:
Graham Henry will be offered immortality with a place in Waitakere City Council's walkway of fame. Mayor Bob Harvey said last night the council would meet on Wednesday to formally vote on the proposal.
It would mean Henry being given the city's highest honour and having his handprints in cement outside the council building. If he accepts the induction, Henry will join other "famous Westies" including the Finn brothers and Pita Sharples.
"He was principal at Kelston Boys school for many years," said Mr Harvey, "and the city would like to give him the highest honour because he has just done such a great job."
