Only 200 tickets are available for the Outward Bound Wairarapa fun run around Henley Lake Domain on April 26.
The event starts at 8.15am at the Men's Shed and "true to the adventure school's tradition" will kick off with a physical training session led by an Outward Bound instructor, spokeswoman Lisa Joe said.
Spot prizes and race bags will be given away, and spectators and participants will get to hear about the range of scholarships and courses Outward Bound are offering the Wairarapa community, Ms Joe said. Tickets are $10 and participants may enter as individuals, pairs or teams of four. Prizes will be awarded for the winning individual, winning pair and winning team of four, and Kathmandu spot prizes will also be up for grabs.
Participants are encouraged to wear their running gear and to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.
The day will be hosted by More FM and a sausage sizzle will be run, Ms Joe said, while funds from ticket sales will go towards Wairarapa Outward Bound scholarships.
