Masterton advocate Trevor MacKiewicz is "blown away" by the support being offered to help the needy.
Since the plight of a Masterton woman who collected food from dumpsters to feed her child featured in the Times-Age, he has received numerous offers of support including one from a Pongakawa woman who is willing to pay $45 weekly to the Wairarapa Advocate Service to help feed the hungry.
Mr MacKiewicz said he was taken aback by such generosity.
"It's just unbelievable. One woman has contacted us saying she is cancelling her World Vision payments so she can help people out locally who need it.
"That is just amazing," he said.
