A man and his son have been taken to hospital by helicopter after being burned in an accident with a camp stove that was accidentally knocked over.
The 50-year-old man and his 14-year-old son were at the Tonga Quarry Camp in the Abel Tasman National Park.
The Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter was dispatched at 9.15pm but couldn't land because of the nature of the location. An onboard intensive care paramedic was winched down to administer medical care.
The pair was then winched aboard and flown to Nelson Hospital.
