KEY POINTS:
There was still no sign yesterday of a 69-year-old West Auckland man who went missing on Monday.
Police are appealing for sightings of Brian Stanley Jones, who was last seen about 3.25pm that day walking from his home to Don Buck Rd, Massey.
Mr Jones is described as European, 173cm tall, of thin build, with dark grey hair on top of his head and lighter grey on the sides.
He was last seen wearing a red cardigan, black T-shirt, black woollen pants and no shoes.
Police are concerned for Mr Jones' safety and the family are naturally distressed, Inspector Donovan Clarke said.
The Eagle helicopter was used in a grid search for him, but with no result.
Mr Clarke said Mr Jones had previously gone missing and was known to go walking in the main streets of Henderson, Massey and Kumeu.
