Helicopter crew finds woman's body in sea

WELLINGTON - Police searching for missing 40-year-old Dunedin woman Gayle Dianne Heath have found a body.

Senior Sergeant Craig Brown said the body was recovered from the sea by helicopter crew near Karetai Road in the city at about 3pm yesterday.

The body had yet to be confirmed as Ms Heath who was last seen in central Dunedin at 2pm on Sunday.

Mr Brown said the woman's death was not being treated as suspicious and had been referred to the coroner.
