Emergency services in Hawke's Bay have been stood down after reports of a helicopter crash were confirmed to be unfounded.
A St John Ambulance spokesman said they responded to reports of the crash but had been stood down by police as no aircraft were unaccounted for.
The Lowe Corp Rescue Helicopter has also confirmed it was turned back on route to the reported accident site in central Hawke's Bay, and said the report was a false alarm.
