KEY POINTS:
Name suppression was today lifted for an Auckland heiress facing drugs charges.
Keita Nobilo, a member of the Nobilo Wines family and ex-girlfriend of Matthew Ridge, is accused of possessing methamphetamine for supply, possession of utensils and possession of cannabis.
The 26-year-old had been battling to keep her name suppressed since being arrested and first appearing in court at the end of June.
In the High Court in Auckland on Friday, Justice Rhys Harrison refused a defence application for continued suppression until a depositions hearing.
But the Court of Appeal then over-rode that decision, reimposing name suppression until midday today.
Today Nobilo's lawyer Mark Ryan said there was no point in pursuing the suppression because an internet news site had reported Nobilo's name in a story published on Friday night.
While the story was withdrawn links with his client's name on it remained.
"There has been posting of Ms Noblio's name on websites and that has meant if we went to appeal we would be laughed out of court because they would say it is already in the public domain."
