Motorists are being warned to find alternative routes or expect long delays after a crash between Puhoi and Warkworth this morning.
No further details are available about the crash, which happened near Schollum Access Rd, State Highway 1, about 9am.
The NZ Transport Agency said traffic was heavy in both directions and the northbound lane was blocked.
Congestion was still heavy after 10am and authorities encouraged people to delay their journeys or to expect significant delays.
