A heavy rain warning in force for Gisborne has been extended south to the ranges of Hawke's Bay.
MetService expects rain there to intensify later tomorrow.
Up to 150mm is forecast between 6pm today and 8pm tomorrow.
In Gisborne, forecasters expect up to 180mm to fall in the eastern coastal hills between now and 6pm tomorrow.
