Heavy rain expected in Fiordland

While most of the country is enjoying perfect summer weather, it will be chucking it down in the deep south today.

Heavy rain is expected over Fiordland and Westland. MetService says the rain should ease off tonight in Fiordland but will continue until tomorrow morning in the ranges south of Otira.

A severe weather watch for heavy rain is also in force for the Otago headwaters.
