Motorcycle gang members going to Nelson for this weekend's Hell's Angels poker run will be closely monitored by police who say they are the main driver of the drug P.
Nelson Bays Area Commander Inspector Mat Arnold-Kelly said police would have an extra focus on road safety and maintaining public order.
"We want to send a clear message to gangs that the people of Nelson will not tolerate anti-social behaviour and drugs in our community.
"Gangs are the main driver of methamphetamine trade in this country and we do not want that here.
"I have seen first-hand the devastation methamphetamine wreaks on people's lives and we all have to commit to disrupting this destructive drug trade."
