At least one flight has been diverted after flights at two South Island airports were hampered by heavy fog across two southern cities this morning.
Air New Zealand and Jetstar have suspended boarding flights at Christchurch Airport as thick fog makes flying in and out of the southern travel hub too dangerous.
Dunedin Airport is also affected by fog with some flights delayed this morning.
Air New Zealand has tweeted that a number of domestic flights in and out of Christchurch had been affected by the adverse weather conditions.
A flight from Rotorua had been diverted to Wellington due to fog.
