A Gisborne mother has appealed to the thief who stole a birthday present for her 1-year-old son - recovering from heart surgery - to return it "no questions asked".
Rosanna Hope-Pearson said the thief, who took the birthday parcel from the charity Heart Children from the family mailbox, stealing a card, gift and certificate before ditching the remnants, might need some remedial work on their own heart, the Gisborne Herald reported.
