A man charged over the crash that killed South Canterbury Finance founder Allan Hubbard will have a defended hearing.
Andrew John Earl, 40, of Milton, is charged with careless driving causing the death of Mr Hubbard, 83, and careless driving causing the injury to Mr Hubbard's wife, Jean, 82, onState Highway 1, at Hilderthorpe on September 2 last year.
Earl confirmed his not guilty plea in Dunedin District Court yesterday.
The case will be heard in Oamaru District Court at a date to be set.
