If you're using a hottie, chances are you still haven't taken advantage of the government's Energywise™ insulation and clean heating programme. It rolls on: if your house was built before 2000 you are eligible for Government funding to install insulation and /or clean efficient heating. You can get up to $1,300 (or 33%) towards the cost of insulation (among other measures) and $500 toward the cost of installing a clean heater in your main living area. www.energywise.govt.nz?
