Almost a fifth of voters say healthcare is the most important issue in this election, a Herald-DigiPoll survey shows.
Health, crime and education remain the areas of concern, with the state of the economy down the list at number six.
The Greens' cornerstone campaign topic of genetic modification also rated as a major worry.
The poll indicated differences between men and women on key issues.
Just under one in four women, 24.5 per cent, said health was of vital importance, followed by education and the teachers' dispute.
For men, the big issue was crime, then health and education.
They were not worried about the teachers' dispute, and were more concerned about the economy than women, at 8.9 per cent to 3 per cent.
Taxes, at 2 per cent, the Treaty of Waitangi (1.2 per cent) and superannuation (0.4 per cent) did not feature.
