Health administrator Jan White will step into ACC's top job when chief executive Garry Wilson retires in October, ACC said today.
Dr White has been chief executive of Waikato District Health Board for the past six years.
ACC Chairman David Collins said the board was confident Dr White would build on the platform set by Mr Wilson.
A spokesman said Mr Wilson, now 60, had signalled his intention to leave, after eight years as chief executive, in last year's annual report.
