Masterton District Council workers have cut back overhanging branches and other vegetation on a Kuripuni corner that had been branded a traffic hazard.
The Wairarapa Times-Age had outlined the fears of Masterton motorist Warren Mikoz about vegetation near a sweeping bend that hides oncoming vehicles "until they're almost on top of you".
Mr Mikoz said he had several times alerted council officers to the overhanging tree branches and bushes growing on the southwestern corner of the Crayne and Dixon Sts intersection that he believed were a traffic hazard to motorists turning in to Dixon St.
Masterton District Council roading engineer Hamish Pringle said the vegetation at the centre of the complaint involved branches from a large oak tree that stands in a council reserve at Kuripuni and bushes growing along a fenceline in a private corner property on Crayne St.
The offending branches and bushes have since been cut back and the sightline vastly improved of traffic approaching the corner from the south.
