The odds are heavily favouring Gladstone utility back Cameron Hayton being the top point-scorer and the top try-scorer in Wairarapa-Bush club rugby this season.
A 22-point haul in Gladstone's 30-26 win over Marist in their Hodder Steffert Trophy premier division plate semifinal on Saturday - including three tries - took Hayton to 227 points overall. Also over the "ton" are Joseph Thompson (Pioneer) 154, Tom Meuli (Eketahuna) 127 and Tipene Haira (Martinborough) 119, while East Coast's Nick Olson will finish just two shy of the three figures on 98.
Hayton's try-scoring tally stands at 19 and the only other player over double figures is Greytown winger Tavita Isaac with 16. There are six players with eight tries, Ben Holmes (East Coast), Johan van Vliet (Eketahuna), Dan Griffin (Eketahuna), Damian Kamo-Paku (Pioneer), Nikora Ewe (Pioneer) and Nathan Hunt (Martinborough).
