A man who shook his 4-week-old baby causing fatal injuries has been jailed for more than 10 years.
The baby's mother told her former partner Hayden Anthony Gray in court today that she could never forgive him for his crime.
Gray, 32, was found guilty earlier on two charges of intentionally causing grievous bodily harm to 4-week-old Carter Hutton in July 2017.
Carter died one year and one day after his fatal injuries were caused.
Today, the High Court in Christchurch heard that people who harm a baby to the extent that wee Carter was harmed, generally face charges of murder or manslaughter.
