Shellfish toxin levels are dropping on a closed stretch of the Hawkes Bay coastline, but the area will remain off limits, says the Hawkes Bay District Health Board.
Levels of the potentially deadly paralytic shellfish poisoning toxin between East Cape, north of Gisborne, to Cape Turnagain, at the southern tip of Hawkes Bay, have been above Health Ministry safety limits since May.
