Hawke's Bay Police say they've had busy 24 hours

Police in the Hawke's Bay area say they have had a busy 24 hours, catching a number of burglars, shoplifters, and a drug dealer.

In Hastings, a police dog and its handler caught four burglars at two separate incidents - one on Ellison Rd and one on Raureka Rd.

Three of the burglars were youth offenders, Hawke's Bay police said in a statement.

In Havelock North, a team of police arrested an unnamed 42-year-old on a range of offences.

They included shoplifting, theft, unlawfully taking a motor vehicle, wilful trespass and failing to stop for police.

Police also stopped another 42 year-old man who was found to be breaching his bail conditions.

The man was charged with possession of methamphetamine and amphetamine for supply and will appear in Hastings District Court on Tuesday.

In yet another incident, four people were arrested in connection with a series of shoplifting incidents, police said.
